This year, the Chamber of Commerce is proud to present the Lifeteime Achievement Award to Richard F. Komosinski.

While working for the bank, he attended banking school and graduated from the Institute for Financial Education. Throughout his career, Mr. Komosinski held various positions in the bank rising up through its corporate structure and in 1977 was promoted to President of the Association. At that time, Yonkers Savings and Loan Association had $66 million in assets and one branch.

Through the years, with the help of a great management team dedicated employees and keen business acumen, Mr. Komosinski helped the bank expanded to nine branches with assets of more than $586 million. In 2001, Yonkers Saving and Loan was purchased by Atlantic Bank.

Outstanding Public Service Award: Joseph Cianciulli

The Yonkers Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Public Service Award is presented to an individual whose community involvement has enriched the lives of many others and has contributed to the betterment of the business community and the city as a whole.

The name Joseph Cianciulli is synonymous with the construction industry in Westchester County. He has been the CEO and COO of A & J Cianciulli since 1962 upon the untimely death of his father, Salvatore.

At a very young age, Joe found himself responsible for not only his family’s business, but also for the welfare and continued job security of the many employees of his company. In that regard, he committed himself to the long working hours required to ensure the business’s ultimate success. For many years, A&J Cianciulli has been a very important contributor to the economic welfare of our city.

Despite the time demands imposed by his business, Joe found the time to give back to his community by his volunteer service on the Zoning Board of Appeals. He is by far the Board’s longest serving member since 1969, and has served as its Chair since 1992. During his tenure, he has heard over 2100 zoning cases, giving each one his personal time and attention. It is fair to say that he probably is one of the longest serving uncompensated public servants in all of New York State.

Joe is a lifelong Yonkers resident and Gorton High School graduate. He is a devoted family man and lives in Yonkers with his wife, Deborah. He and Deborah are the proud parents of two daughters, Adria and Jessica.

The Yonkers Chamber of Commerce recognizes and appreciates his tireless efforts and professional expertise he brings to our City and bestows upon him the 2005 Outstanding Public Service Award.
